Daughters of Astarte, a student troupe, located in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, is a collaborative among Laurie of L.A. Tribal and her students.

The warrior goddess Astarte is one of the most powerful Middle Eastern deities. She represents femininity, the productive power of Nature, and is a protector of the spirits of the dead. She is considered a lunar goddess and was worshipped by a number of cultures, including the Phoenicians, the Mesopotamians (as Ishtar), and the Romans (as Aphrodite). Her symbols are the lion, the horse, the sphynx, the dove, and the planet Venus.

Students of L.A. Tribal are the “Daughters of Astarte.”
